The restaurant, with a program of events ranging from music and performances to art and social gatherings, has become a vibrant meeting point, popular with both locals and visitors.

Piazza dei Tre Re is one of Florence’s oldest medieval squares, located between Piazza della Repubblica, Via Calzaioli, and Via Orsanmichele. 

In the 13th and 14th centuries, this area was a bustling commercial district dominated by the tower houses of powerful merchant families. Even today, one can still sense the Florence of guilds, workshops, and towering structures that once symbolized wealth and influence.

Among the most notable historical features is Torre dei Maccii, which overlooks the square and the nearby Vicolo dell’Onestà. This narrow street takes its name from the “Magistratura dell’Onestà,” an institution established in late medieval Florence to regulate and oversee prostitution—evidence of a city already highly organized in its civic structures.

Today, the square lies just steps away from Florence’s main tourist landmarks, yet remains outside the busiest flows, preserving a more intimate and authentic atmosphere where the layers of history can still be felt.
